Exploitation or Empowerment in music videos

                          

Micheal Jackson "Earth song" falls under the category of empowerment. This is because throughout this video he aims to persuade and show the audience how us humans are destroying the world. He portrays this by showing us comparisons throughout and example of what for example 'factories' do to animal habitats. This is effective because as he is such a well known singer/song writer his message will be heard and understood world wide as he is known for his talent world wide.


                          

In comparrison to Beyonces video 'Run the world' this is an example of exploitation. The main message being portrayed in this video is that women run the world. Over and throughout this video she passionately expresses her feelings and emotions and aims to persuade her points over and win the audiences views and perspectives on this point. This is exploitation because she presents women as the dominant gender in the world but in the video she is dressed explicitly for someone trying express the significance of their gender.
