Drake - God’s Plan

God's Plan is a music video showing Drake himself going round Miami giving out money and donations to different people and causes. The people he was seen to be treating with gifts and presents to are all planned. They are not random people. Instead they have a background and reasons to why Drake felt the need to donate money. 

Drake is a rapper. By this the conventions of rappers in music videos will be showing and promoting money, drugs and sex. This is why this videos can be seen as being very controversial. Instead of showing off the money he has, he is seen to be giving it away to the less fortunate. To his target audience he is seen to be a inspirational public figure. This is because the person who is seen be looked up to by so many people and viewers is donating to the poor, his respect and ratings by them will go up. But it can be argued that he only did the video for publicity.

For example at 1:17 of the music video we see drake giving a girl $50,000. We see that this is going towards her university. From the audiences perspective we see this to be sweet and generous. Also the scene in the mini market, we see Drake tell everyone that the anything and everything is free. This is seen to be very generous and loving. Especially as we see in the video that there are less fortunate poorer people.
